How comment Spammers find and spoil your blog

Last Sunday I wrote a blog post about saving your blog from spammers in 3 simple steps. That will work as a firewall for your blog. But that will not stop them and new spammers finding your blog.
Have you ever wondered that “How these spammers find your blog to spoil?”
Well, First you must understand something about comment spamming,
- 99.90% of spam comments that you receive are posted by bots. Not Humans.
- Finding blogs to farm links isn’t that difficult for Bots.
Since my blog is been getting some unusual spam comments, I took some time to do a little bit research on this.

While i made that post on that day I were at DigitalPoint forum, warrior forums, some other blogs and did some conversations and left this post’s link there with my signature everywhere. That’s the start of it, I was being hit by spammer bots again and again. Now you must have found what’s the reason….
Spammer bots crawls the Forums, social sites, each a every sites that allow you to leave links or rss url of you blog.
very simple, If your blog is getting spam comments, then I bet you were using Forum, Social Sites and even commented blogs for your blog’s promotion. How many of you can deny this?
You may ask, “What stupidity is this? that’s just normal”
Well! that’s normal. But that normal tradition is used by spammers to get your links. This is how they do the trick,
- They find all that sites that allows their users to post their blog links and Feeds.
- Then the bots crawl those sites and harvest links.
- Once they have those links they delete all the links that are not blogs.
- They start sending spam comments to all those links.
The beauty in this is that everything is done by software. And there are several softwares that allow *you* to send spam comments to promote your site.
All those softwares just need a list of WordPress blog URLs, that’s it.
This is a technical way of collecting blog URLs for comment spamming. There is also another easy and dirty way of getting blog urls…
You can buy 1000 blog urls in any of Blackhat, Warez forums for as low as $10. These urls are collected by humans just like you and me. How you gonna stop them?
Even you can find wordpress blogs using google, Just search ”powered by wordpress” (within quotes). 99% site result will be WordPress blogs. You can even find WordPress blogs of your niche by searching google with the query YOUR-NICHE “powered by wordpress”
So there is no way you can stop comment spammers from finding your blog and posting comments. But what you can do is, you can use plugins to stop them posting directly.
